Trillanes Denies Being a Beneficiary of the Pork Barrel Scam! Napoles to file charges against the senator and 3 others!

Senator Antonio Trillanes denied any allegations that he was one of the beneficiaries of the pork barrel scam.

"I categorically deny any involvement in any irregularity regarding PDAF, DAP or any government funds, for that matter," he said in a text message to reporters.

He accused the Justice Secretary of taking advantage of his office to persecute and harass members of the opposition.

"Aguirre has been using his office to persecute and harass members of the opposition by fabricating testimonies from dubious convicts or detainees such as the Bilibid drug lords, Kerwin Espinosa and now Napoles," Trillanes stated.

He also mentioned that he was never mentioned in Napoles alleged "pork list".

On Monday, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre named Senator Trillanes along with other incumbent senators Drilon, de Lima and the former Budget secretary Florencio Abad in a television interview.

Napoles' lawyer Stephen David told him about that the his client plans to press charges against the four named "in a few days".

"Ang mga nabanggit niyang personalities noong nakaraang administrasyon ay sina Secretary Abad, parang kasama rin si Senator Trillanes, Senator De Lima at Senator Drilon," Aguirre said.

Aguirre also cited David saying Napoles' affidavit mentiones a Malacañang official claimed a reward worth P10-million which the former Aquino's administration put up for information about Napoles' arrest.

"As a matter of fact, may sinasabi doon na meron daw P10 million for the arrest, or for any information leading to the arrest of Janet Lim Napoles. And hindi malaman kung sino ang nag-claim niyan, if ever it was claimed, yung sa reward," DOJ secretary said in a news conference.

Detained Senator Leila de Lima was the DOJ secretary when the PDAF scam was investigated on 2013. And earlier she accused the Duterte administration of offering a deal to Napoles to "blackmail and threaten" the president's opponents.

Their investigations mainly nailed former senators Juan Ponce Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada and Ramon Revilla Jr. in the scam.

Former senators Estrada and Revilla are detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame while Enrile bailed out which was allowed by the court.

The pork barrel scam "mastermind" was acquitted by Court of Appeals from the serious illegal detention filed against her by her cousin Benhur Luy.
