Cebu Pacific passenger faints amid flight delay

Passengers of Cebu Pacific flight 5J575 bound for Cebu had a quite frustrating and disappointing Friday.

The flight was supposed to leave at 5:05 PM.

Gin Durano, one of the passengers of Cebu Pacific flight 5J 575, uploaded a series of videos and photos about her and other passengers' very inconvenient experience.

Durano stated that babies were crying while the elderly passengers kept on complaining. Then a woman was suffocated and in need of oxygen.

She also ranted about waiting for an hour inside the un-airconditioned plane.

"Freaking damn hot!" she wrote.

What worst is the flight crew didn't even do anything to deplane them nor provided any reason for the delay of the flight.

Also, the crew only started deplaning them when a woman passed out and other passengers were yelling and asking for water.

" I Super Love You Cebu Pacific!" Durano sarcastically said.

Meanwhile, Department of Transportation (DOTr) ordered a probe on Cebu Pacific's with deplaning procedure after the delay even caused a woman to lose consciousness and black out and also several passengers started complaining.

The DOTr had ordered for the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) to investigate the incident after evidences of the delay surfaced social media.

"Should DOTr-CAB find out that Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 575 went beyond the prescribed 2-hour period to deplane its passengers due to long tarmac delays, Cebu Pacific shall be held liable for the penalty prescribed under the regulation," the DOTr said in a statement.

The pilot will also be held liable for he is responsible in the deplaning.

"Further, if found to have violated the regulation, the pilot shall likewise be held liable as he has the obligation to order the deplaning," they added.

In a media interview, Cebu Pacific Corporate Communications Director Charo Logarta-Lagamon stated that an ambulance came by 6PM.

"Around 6 p.m., dumating na ang ambulansya, then the passenger had already been attended to. The pilot, the crew, requested for another aircraft. The pilot deemed it prudent to request if the aircraft could be replaced," Lagamon said.

In a separate statement, Cebu Pacific have given their explanation about the unfortunate incident.

"On Friday, June 16, 2017, Flight 5JF575 bound to Cebu from Manila encountered a delay due to debris that had to be cleared from the runway. During that time, one passenger fainted, prompting emergency medical assistance," it said.

The flight departed Manila 2 hours later than scheduled at 7:32 PM and then arrived at Cebu by 8:53 PM.
