"In the days ahead we will arrest all of them. Number one 'yung nag-produce ng shabu, nagbigay ng pera sa terorista, [Number one are those who produces shabu and funded the terrorist] they will all be arrested, whether politicians or not. We will charge you accordingly. We will detain you more than 'yung six days-six days. There will be at once an inquest and if there is a probable cause, I would like them to be detained forever," the president stated during his visit in Cagayan de Oro City.
According to President Duterte, there are quite a number of drug personalities in Marawi City that is why Cagayan de Oro does not run out of shabu supply.
"Marami 'yan dito sa Marawi, kalakasan. Kaya nga ang supply ng shabu dito sa Cagaya hindi maubus-ubos eh," he said.
On July 1, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa in a press conference on Monday that there are drug lords, politicians involved in illegal drugs and the Maute group are protecting one another. The PNP Chief also stated before, that he have received tips that drug lords from Metro Manila, Luzon and Visayas attended "drug summit" with the Maute group and politicians involved in drugs.
"Mutual, the feeling is mutual between the two of them (narco-politicians and Maute group). They protect each other and they support each other," the Director General stated.
"Even before July 1, pag-assume natin at in-announce ang pagsurrender ng drug lords, we received information na karamihan ng drug lords sa Metro Manila, Luzon, at Visayas ay pumunta sa Marawi at nagkaroon sila ng drug summit and they were protected by the Maute group and narcopoliticians," he added. "Nagmeeting sila doon, meron tayong information na ganun," he said.
PNP Chief also confirmed that ISIS is now recognizing the Maute group but how they're supporting them is still unknown.
"Yung ISIS e hindi pa talaga natin na-establish kung anong suporta," Dela Rosa stated.
Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte placed the entire island of Mindanao under martial law on Tuesday, May 23 due the atrocities caused by the Maute terrorist group in Marawi City.
However, Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa does not recommend martial law as a solution.
"Do you think ako mismo mag-advise ng martial law? Kung ikaw ay dumaan sa ganun, hindi mo gustong bumalik 'yung ganun," he stated in a turnover ceremony to the new batch of provisional battalion of Special Action Force commandos who are guarding New Bilibid Prison.
[Do you think I myself advised martial law, if you experienced that yourself, you wouldn't want to return something like that.]
Meanwhile, President Duterte already stated in Thursday that he has no plans of implementing a similar kind of Martial Law years ago.
