Two Maute members arrested in a joined forces of the military troops and PNP

Two members of the Maute terror group were apprehended by the joint forces of the Armed Forces and Philippine National Police.



The suspects were identified to be Kamarodin Butukan Rajab at Akmad Ginta Acob. Unfortunately, the other member who was with was able to escape. He was identified to be Iskak Mohammad, a resident of Sitio Nabilan Barangay Dimapatoy, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.

According to Captain Arvin Encinas, chief of 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division Public, the 5th Special Forces Battalion, 19th Infantry Battalion, 6th Military Intelligence Battalion at Criminal Investigation and Detection Group ng Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao joined forces and raided the base of the suspects.

The military forces were able to confiscate high caliber weaponries - AK47, 5 M16 armalite rifle, 2 carbine, caliber .45 pistol, 2 shotgun, improvised RPG, 50 caliber o barret with telescope sniper rifle, components in building an improvised explosive device or IED along with those were hundreds of black and white flags.

The militant members are currently in the custody of the CIDG ARMM and charges were filed the today.

Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Emmanuel Garcia, commander of the 4th Civil Relation Group of Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom), believes that the forces of the Maute militants in Marawi City is weaker than before. This is because the Maute group's gun fights against the military forces are lesser than before.



According to Garcia, eventhough he could not determine the exact number of the remaining member of the terror group but he can tell that there are only few remaining members due to the weaker gunfights coming from the local terrorist which is uhttp://ift.tt/17RwRvUnlike the situation on the first encounters in the city.

The WestMinCom commander is hoping that to wipe out the militants or have them  surrender to the government because the military troops will not stop until peace is regained in Marawi City.

The government believes that they were able to stop the spread of terrorism after they apprehended Cayamora Maute, he father of the Maute brothers at Toril, Davao City.

During the Mindanao Hour in Malacañang, AFP Spokesperson Gen. Restituto Padilla believes that Cayamora that his arrest is a huge blow to the local terrorists.

Padilla stated that through Cayamora, they'll be able to find out the terrorism plans of his sons and of the Abu Sayyaf's.

They were able to to retrieve documents, videos and other materials that depicts the well-planned siege in Marawi City.
