You've probably heard that Manny Pacquiao is fighting Australia's Jeff Horn in Brisbane this weekend.
"Manny knows who will be the crowd favourite on July 1, but he can't wait to give Australia and the world a great performance. It's going to be an unbelievable event."
Not many people think Jeff Horn has what it takes to upset Manny Pacquiao in their WBO welterweight world title fight on Sunday in Brisbane — especially Team Pacquiao.
His promoter, Bob Arum, has revealed that plans are already in place for Pacquiao’s next fight.
A WIN for Jeff Horn will be a knockout for Queensland tourism.
It is not compulsory for Pacquiao to take part in a rematch but the fact he insisted on it as part of the contract is encouraging for local tourism leaders.
“It is a transformational fight for not only Australia but the world.
Who is Manny Pacquiao?
Manny Pacquiao, 38, is an unlikely idol who rose from absolute poverty in the Philippines to become one of the best boxers in the world. Not only is he one of the sport's biggest stars, he's a congressman, movie star, TV host and pop singer.
Who is Jeff Horn?
Horn picked up boxing after being bullied at school, and had a successful amateur career, advancing to the quarterfinals of his weight class at the London Olympics.
The former Brisbane schoolteacher (he boxes full-time now) turned professional in 2013, and spent the next two years conquering a procession of dependably beatable locals and imports.
“Can you imagine the tourism spin-offs for Queensland and Australia?
Now it’s up to the fighters. This is going to be a great day for Australia and a great day for international boxing.
May the best man win.
