A certain Michael Villanueva aired his grievance versus the MMDA enforcers who flagged him on EDSA for a traffic violation that would make him P5,000 poorer.
In the Facebook post, Villanueva gave netizens a perspective of what happened by sharing the “alleged” verbal exchange with the MMDA enforcers who stopped him for allegedly violating the “social distancing policy”.
Despite his repeated pleas, Villanueva was issued a traffic violation ticket by the MMDA enforcers.
Villanueva was told he can pay the P5K fine either in Palawan Express or Cebuana Lhuillier.
Meanwhile, Villanueva’s sister in law nurse was instructed to get off from the motorcycle, with the assurance from the MMDA enforcers they will assist her get a ride to the hospital.
However, after 30 minutes of waiting, a shuttle service for the frontliners passed by but it did not stop to pick up her sister in law. Villanueva decided to wait until her sister in law can get a ride but to no avail.
Perhaps, embarrassed by their inability to deliver their earlier promise, one of the MMDA enforcers told Villanueva to proceed to the hospital with her sister in law since anyway, he has been issued a ticket.
Villanueva ended the FB post explaining that he just wanted to highlight one of the problems faced by the frontliners with the hope that LGUs will give special consideration to frontliners who commute with family members or provided with free shuttle service since they are rendering a special service amid the covid pandemic.
As of this writing, Villanueva’s FB post has generated 44,000+ shares, 46,500+ reactions and 40 comments.

– Pasensya na po kung wala akong ibang way para maka tulong sating Health worker pero sna This should be given an immediate attention lalu na po sa mga city mayor mabigyan nyu po sna sila ng exemptions or maayos na service na may sapat na oras karamihan po sa health workers natin hirap po pag papasok sa hospital Because all Health workers are not just going to work to earn money and to feed their family. But they come in to help us in terms of medical procedures, wherein we need more at this situation.
