“Bait baitan ang mama?!” —Lawyer’s reaction to ABS-CBN Pres. & CEO Carlo Katigbak on possible retrenchment of employees

“Bait baitan ang mama?!”

This line from lawyer and blogger behind the FB page “Nick Nañgit – NCN Law” IMO pretty sums up his FB post in reaction to the ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak’s statement on possible retrenchment should the Kapamilya network fails to resume broadcast asap.

You may read the full statement of ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak that elicited the reaction from Atty. Nick Nañgit.

Moving forward, Atty. Nick Nañgit remarked that the Kapamilya network is either lack corporate due diligence or they just did prepare any eventuality. Worse, it was deliberate and allow the situation to go this far, to anger people and allow them to lay the blame against the government when in fact it was their fault all along?

The lawyer figured if indeed they are concerned of their employees, why did they not push their franchise application since 2014?

Atty. Nick Nañgit remarked the Lopezes have other companies capable of absorbing ABS-CBN employees. He cited Big Dipper company which he said employs 12 people. It is a huge revenue earner, so he sees no reason why it cannot absorb some of the ABS-CBN employees! Probably, it is not prohibited by its Articles of Incorporation.

Atty. Nick Nañgit warned Katigbak from telling the public that artists who are independent contractors are affected by the so-called retrenchment? He said those affected are the rank and file, supervisors and managers. These are loose change, he said. Star Cinema, ANC and their pay-per-view programs will continue their operation. These employees can find work in those companies.

Dun sila magsumiksik!”

Atty. Nick Nañgit said that before ABS-CBN can start retrenching people, he asked if they already filed voluntary dissolution at SEC? If not, manu things can still happen.

“At saka wait a minit kapeng mainit!

Atty. Nick Nañgit ended the FB post telling Katigbak that their strategy of using the 11K employees as a tool to scare the public won’t work any more, only in the movies. He said Katigbak cannot hide his true color by wearing white because he can still his true color that envelops him.

Don’t me! Chura mo! =D”
