Understandably, Pokwang aka Marietta Subong is bitter following the shutdown of the Kapamilya network because of expired franchise.
And worse, there is an element of uncertainty hanging over the Kapamilya network whether it can return to normal programming or not, whether it can secure a new franchise during the term of President Duterte or not.
So I can understand where’s Pokwang’s IG post is coming from.
In case you missed it, the Kapamilya comedian vented her frustration on IG, demanding mass testing and making sarcastic remarks by thanking the government for the love and care and saying she can’t wait for 2022 to cast her vote.
Pokwang’s IG post elicited mixed reactions on social media, depending on what political color you are identified with.
A certain netizen named Lax Carillo, a Duterte supporter, did the honor of answering to Pokwang’s IG post.
Carillo opened the post by saying that Pokwang must have been joking since she is a comedian but quickly set aside the niceties and turned serious.
First and foremost, Carillo told Pokwang that since her nationality has been upgraded by virtue of her marriage, first to a Japanese and currently to an American, she should try to get updated with their news there before making rants on social media as if she’s an expert on mass testing. He said Japan, the land of birth of her firs husband, isn’t conducting mass testing. Same goes with the US as far as Trump is concerned, not doing mass testing as well.

WALA TALAGA! since na Upgrade na lahi mo sa iba’t – ibang nationalities, at mga FIRST WORLD countries naman sila Galing ——> TRY TO GET INVOLVED sa mga Balita sa kanila hindi yung mag dadadaldal ka na akala mo expert ka sa Mass Testing na yan… Unang Asawa mo Hapon? Ang Japan Never nag karoon ng Mass Testing “Selective Scientific Testing ang meron. “ tapos ngayon Amerikano naman asawa mo USA – Never Mag kakaroon ng Mass Testing, President Trump say’s there will be a MASSIVE TESTING but doesn’t mean you have to test the 339 MILLION americans…”
First, Carillo advised Pokwang to get a perspective on issues by reading up but not limit her source of information from Rappler and Trillanes before commenting. Otherwise, she will just appear stupid.
PERSPECTIVE – Pockey! Wag na tayong mag touchdown at mag comment kung Limited lang ang Info natin yung tipong source natin Rappler at Si Trillanes nag mumuka lang tayong Tanga or baka tanga talaga alin sa dalawa? Since international na ang naka lahi sayo (panget ng term no parang nag pa breed lang sa aso? )anyway wag mo na sana idragged ang masamang ugaling pinoy dito na “Bilangan, sisihan at hanapan” lawakan mo ang perspektibo mo hindi yung iproprovoked mo pa ang mga tao sa hate speech mo hindi naman ito comedy at ang daming Tao sa buong mundo at mga binuwis na buhay ng mga Frontliners lalo na mga Doctor na nag kasakit at namamatay dito sa Pinas at sa buong mundo? If joke yan sayo Aba matindi pagamot ka sa Albularyo! Just So you know!
Second, Carillo told Pokwang that she lacks the initiative. Her, distributing meals to the front liners does not give her the license to look down on the government thinking she is correct while the government is wrong with their decisions just like the ABS-CBN shutdown which she believe was right but violated the law?
INITIATIVE – kulang ka sa pag kukusa, Im sure may mga tulong ka sa mga tao pero hindi yan sapat at hindi yan dahilan na mata – matahin mo ang Gobyerno mo dahil alam mo na tama ka at mali sila sa mga desisyon nila at parang yung pag papasara ng Network nyo na alam mo tama pero mali naman sa batas? Kaya nga na #Shutdown Tama ba? Feel mo ba?
On Pokwang saying she is excited to vote in 2022? Carillo responded that no matter who wins in 2022, whether she is the Virgin Mary or God himself, things will be the same because Filipinos are perfectionist as Kim Chiu complained. Filipinos are very demanding from the government as if they are entitled to it like they are paying P1M tax per day to the government?

Carillo said there are three types of government “bashers”. One criticizes the mistakes of the government and turn a blind eye to its achievements. Second critics are the wise ones, they see both the mistakes and the achievements of the government. The last one are the stupid ones. They react without even understanding the issue, makes assumptions, engage in finger pointing and the blame game and attacks the government without knowing the facts.
REACTIONS – Govt. “Bashers” live to criticized the mistakes of the Govt. and don’t care about its achievement who would praise an enemy? Nobody specially if you’re categorized as bashers, while “Critiques” are the wise one they will see both the mistakes and the achievement of govt. The “Stupids” they’re the one who will react even they don’t understand the issue will make assumptions, blame and frigidly talk about everything and will attack according to their own will they don’t care about facts! They care about idiocy and hate.
Carillo asked Pokwang which type among Duterte’s critics she belongs to? “So saan ka dyan Powkey?!”
Carillo reminded Pokwang and the public in general to know their role and what can they do to help the government.

Not make many requests but have done nothing to help improve the government.
Hindi yung ang dami natin request tapos…. wala ka naman nagagawa para sa ikakaganda ng Gobyerno!? Try natin yung maging supportive minsan hindi mag kokoment tayo dahil galit lang tayo sa Gobyerno…
Because first and foremost, COVID pandemic is not the government’s own making or fault and if they see something lacking in terms of the government’s action, why not do something about it? They are free to do it because there is such a thing as PPP (private and public partnership). He said since Pokwang’s husband is an American citizen, no one is stopping her from leaving the country if she feels safe there after getting tested there.
Una sa lahat hindi kasalanan ng Gobyerno ang COVID Pandemic na ito kung satingin mo may pag kukulang at gusto mo punuan edi gawin mo? Carillo ended the FB post by laughing at Pokwang and fellow Kapamilya talents of shifting their socmed campaign from #NotToshutdown to #MassTesting after their previous campaign failed to get traction and public support.
Sya nga naman no? Since wala ng na gogoyo sa #NotToshutdown kineme nyo eh kasi naman its an isolated case na walang kinalaman ang buong bansa so sasakay kayo sa national issue na “Mass Testing” kuno kahit di naintindihan basta may Testing lang ahahahaha!! patawa ka talaga darling you truly served your purpose.
