A certain MJ Quiambao Reyes slammed VP Leni Robredo following her statement Maria Ressa of Rappler was singled out by the Duterte government because she was a critic?

Reyes, who was apparently unhappy with Robredo’s statement, opened the FB post with an unsolicited advice to the Vice President, “MADAM, Mag isip ka po muna bago kumuda para di ka naman masyado mahalata at di masabihang boba.”

Reyes then went on to shred Robredo’s argument into pieces. First, she asked Robredo why would the complainant sue other journalists when it was Rappler who had libeled him?

1⃣ Bakit nyo naman gustong idamay pa ni Wilfredo Keng ang iba kung ang Rappler lang naman ang may atraso sa kanya?

Second, if what Robredo was trying to say that Maria Ressa was the only one sued for liber/cyberlibel, Reyes remarked that Robredo was quick to forget what Jover Laurio did to Franco Mabanta.

2⃣ Kung ang sinasabi mo naman ay si Maria Ressa lang namumukod tanging nakasuhan ng libel/cyberlibel, aba naman Madam ambilis nyo naman yatang makalimot kung ano ang ginawa ng inaanak nyo ni Ressa na si Jover Laurio kay Franco Mabanta.

On a personal note, Reyes confessed to Robredo that she had to face 5 counts of libel not so long ago. Did she cry foul? “No,” Reyes said. She fought a fair fight.

“I, too, had to face and defend myself from 5 counts of libel not so long ago. Umiyak ba kami and cried foul? No. Lumaban kami ng patas.”

Reyes remarked she hoped Robredo still remember what former President Cory Aquino did to Louie Beltran and Max Soliven, which President Duterte never did, despite the incessant attacks from critics, all those (ahem Robredo) spreading fake news in the international community to destroy his image and the country.

“Sana naman tanda nyo pa ang ginawa ni Madam Cory kay Louie Beltran at Maximo Soliven–isang bagay na hindi ginawa ni Pangulong Duterte sa mga walang habas na bumabatikos sa kanya pati na sa lahat ng nagpakalat ng matinding fake news sa international community at sumisira sa imahe nya at imahe ng bansa, kasama ka na.”

Reyes told Robredo that for once, she starts thinking, speaking and acting like a VP instead of lawyering and behaving like Maria Ressa’s lobbyist.

“Instead of lawyering and acting like Maria Ressa’s lobbyist, for once, why don’t you think, speak, and act like a VP? In case you forgot, you are very much a part of the government you are incessantly criticizing.”

Reyes said if Robredo sees a problem with the law, she better asks the Legislative Body to amend and decriminalize libel and cyberlibel.

“Kung sa tingin mo ay may mali sa batas, manawagan ka sa Legislative Body para amyendahan nila ito at i-decriminalize ang libel at cyber libel. (Ikatutuwa pa namin yan ng Pangulo!)”

Reyes added if Robredo thinks something was wrong with the decision of the judge, she directs her criticism and suggestions to the Judiciary.

“Kung sa tingin mo ay may mali naman sa desisyon ng Hukuman, then address your criticisms and suggestions to the Judiciary.”

Reyes ended the rant by taking a swipe at Robredo being a lawyer.

“Malinaw po sa amin ang separation of powers ng Executive, Legislative, at Judiciary. Nagtapos ka naman po ng Abogasya, Madam. Alam mo na dapat yan. “
