History has been made as HidilynDiaz wins the Philippines its very first Olympic gold medal!
She placed first in the women’s 55kg weightlifting competition at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with a record-breaking lift at 224kg.
“Mabuhay ang Pilipinas, mabuhay,” cried the Olympian as she took the top spot.

Hidilyn previously won Silver Medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
She was also a Gold Medalist at the 2018 Asian Games, and 2019 SEA Games. She also took the Bronze medal at tha 2019 world championship.
