Reynel Hugnatan showcased a vintage performance, contributing to the MisOr Mustangs’ 82-63 victory over the Bicol Spicy Oragons in the Pilipinas Super League President’s Cup on Thursday night at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna.
The former Meralco Bolts center tallied 19 points on 8-of-12 field goal shooting to go with five rebounds and two assists as the Mustangs notched their sixth victory in 10 matches.
“The past few games kasi wala pa ako sa timing, pero ngayong nakapag ensayo na ako (with MisOr), mas nakukuha ko na ulit ‘yung laro ko,” Hugnatan said in a post-game interview.
Kobe Pableo added 10 markers, including two outside conversions, while Rudy Lingganay dished out 12 assists to go with nine points and six rebounds as MisOr recorded their second straight win.
The Mustangs made their presence felt early as they surged to a 23-16 start and a 65-67 lead after three quarters before they pulled away from the Spicy Oragons for good with a 17-6 run in the fourth period.
Jerome Garcia top-scored with 17 points, including three outside conversions, while Nicole Maullion and Jethro Publico added 11 and 10 markers, respectively, as Bicol dropped to 1-8.
