Two-time UAAP Most Valuable Player (MVP) Bella Belen has expressed her interest in a professional club team she would love to play for if the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) did not implement a rookie draft process.
In a video shared by One Sports, Belen responded to fan questions from Reddit, one of which she found to be “very interesting.”
“Hi, Bella! What if the PVL draft wasn’t put in place today? Which team would you like to go?” a fan asked.
“Oh, very interesting, ha,” Bella naughtily said.
“Ako kasi, based sa napapanood ko ngayon sa PVL, ako kasi gusto ko do’n sa team na feeling ko magagamit ako,” she proceeded.
According to the National University (NU) standout, the Creamline Cool Smashers already have a full roster of MVPs, and she believes her services wouldn’t be necessary for the team.
“‘Wag na sa Creamline. Marami na sila do’n eh. Kahit gusto ko si Coach Sherwin (Meneses), marami na sila do’n. Andiyan sina Ate Alyssa (Valdez), Ate Jema (Galanza),” Bella said.
Bella added that it will all come down to where she feels her skills can be best utilized and where she can contribute, which is why she sees herself fitting with the PLDT High Speed Hitters.
“I think ‘yung team na feeling ko magagamit ako is PLDT or ano pa ba? ‘Yun lang. PLDT ‘yung nasa isip ko kasi talaga ngayon na parang feeling ko keri ko or may pwede akong ma-contribute sa team,” she continued, emphasizing the presented scenario where the process of drafting rookies does not exist.
However, since the league implemented the rookie draft last year and Bella still has another UAAP season to prepare for, she stated that her focus remains on the upcoming tournament.
