Amid reports linking him to a trade from the Titan Ultra Giant Risers to the Converge FiberXers, Dave Ildefonso said he has yet to receive any official word regarding the supposed move.
“Actually wala pa ako alam e,” Ildefonso said when asked about the trade rumors. “Yung mga rumors, pag nababasa ko sa Facebook, first time ko narinig. So wala pa nagsasabi sa akin na kahit ano pero hopefully everything will work out.”
Reports earlier stated that the Giant Risers were finalizing a deal to send Ildefonso’s playing rights to Converge in exchange for rookie Kobe Monje and a future first-round pick.
However, sources confirmed that the PBA Commissioner’s Office has asked both teams to revise certain details of the proposed trade before it can be reconsidered for approval.
Titan Ultra team manager Aldriane Anglim declined to elaborate on the issue, saying the organization will refrain from making any statements until discussions are finalized.
“No comment about them muna,” Anglim told Fastbreak via Viber on Wednesday.
The Giant Risers, who recently acquired the NorthPort Batang Pier franchise, also hold the playing rights to Greg Slaughter, whose contract situation remains unresolved.
Despite the ongoing talks, Ildefonso remained focused elsewhere expressing happiness for the Ateneo community as they unveiled their renovated gym.
“Sayang hindi ako nakapaglaro dito, pero sobrang masaya ako para sa Ateneo community kasi meron silang bagong gym,” he said. “It’s so nice na makita na nabago yung flooring and everything – parang brand new gym talaga.” (JNV)
