Noynoy Aquino opposed the policies of president duterte and plan to organize another EDSA PEOPLE POWER?

President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III and his allies did all they can to stop former Davao City mayor Rodrigo Duterte in running for presidency.

"Our people have spoken and their verdict is accepted and respected,” Aquino’s spokesman," Presidential Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma said in a statement after Duterte won and claimed presidency in a landslide.

However, the former president stated that he will go against President Duterte and will continue his martyr father's "legacy" if he turned into a dictator.

"Hindi ko matatanggap na walang nangyari sa pagkamatay ng tatay ko at iba pa nating mga kababayan, libo-libo po. Kailangan ibuhos ko yung magagawa ko. Kung buhay ko ang katapat iyon lang ang  angan sa akin, e dapat hindi ganun kaimportante yung buhay ko dahil hindi ko mailalaban yung ipinaglaban ng tatay ko. Hindi magkakaroon ng kabuluhan,"
 he staed on his speech.

Deceased Senator Ninoy Aquino was assassinated by a headshot on Aug. 21, 1983 when he was returning to the country.

After his death, EDSA People Power Revolution came to rise to overthrow former Presiden Ferdinand Marcos for his dictatorship.

Aquino quoted President Duterte's statements from a media interview on April 26, 2016 that he will Congress if Senator Antonio Trillanes will pursue his plans of impeachment against the current Philippine president.

"Kapag natalo ka patay ka, Every revolution that succeeds, siya ang tigas. He now becomes the authority. Ako na ang Congress. Ako na ang Presidente," President Duterte said.

The former President Aquino reacted to President Duterte's words.

"He's a lawyer but I'm not. But I studied the Constitution and I challenge everyone to look into the Constitution: where is the power of President to abolish Congress? He might abolish the Supreme Court next. But look for it,
there is no such right," Aquino stated. He also said that only the Congress and Supreme Court can check and balance the system from preventing abuse of power. He also accused Pres. Duterte of planning to form a revolutionary government and will eventually declare martial law.

Duterte also stated, "Walang batas-batas. Ako ang masusunod. Ako ang tama. Ako ang magaling."

Aquino corrected this statement of his and mentioned his mother former President Corazon Aquino.

"My mother didn't exercise power all by herself. She immediately came up with the 1987 Constitution which was approved by 90 percent of Filipinos," he said.

Former President Aquino claims to be worried about the new president's behavior and way of talking.

"Katulad yung kanyang pagsasalita ay naiiba. Okay na kaya iyon? Iyon bang ganung klase pagsasalita magdadala ng isang kilong bigas sa kaninumang hapag? Kapag naghanap tayo ng kakampi at binati mo ng pabalagbag, ilan kaya ang kakampi sa atin? E mabigat yung kalaban natin sa South China Sea," he stated.

Aquino is facing graft charges over an P100-billion uncollected tax which were wrongly declared and classified as petroleum products.
He is also ordered by the Ombudsman to respond about the issues regarding Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP).
