A police brutality was caught on a video where two policemen where beating up two men who they caught drinking liquor outside a house late at night and also threatened to shoot them.

The two police officers were identified as PO1 Jose Tandog and PO1 Chito Enriquez. They were clueless that their brutality was already being recorded by one of the men they arrested.

The video was taken on Tuesday at Barangay San Jose, Mandaluyong City. According to the man who took the video, they were invited at the police station by PO1 Tandog and Enriquez after they were caught drinking on the streets.

The two arrested men were trying to reason out with the police officers but PO1 Tandog continued to hit them with a wooden stick (yantok) and even threatened to shoot them.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Oscar Albayalde confronted PO1 Enriquez although he was not the one who was hitting the two men with a stick.

To Enriquez defense, he too was surprised with how Tandog handled the situation.

Through Albayalde, the two police officers will be taken to Marawi City while their case is under investigation.


Another victim of police brutality took the courage and spoke up. A man whose alias is "Arnold" showed and claimed that he too experienced brutality for the same police officer, PO1 Jose Tandog on May 15.

Arnold provided a photo to the media showing a large bruise on his chest after receiving hard blows from Tandog's 'yantok'.



"Mag-iinom lang kami. Binigyan po ako ng suntok sa tagiliran, pinalo rin tapos sabi niya "gusto mo dito pa lang 'tumba na kita?"" Arnold narrated to the media. Because of his fear, Arnold didn't file any complaint against the police officer, however, he was wondering why he barangay officials didn't do anything despite witnessing Tandog's brutality.

On the barangay official's defense, they said that their barangay peace officers are on patrol all night and denied the accusations that their office is aways closed.


Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa was furious after hearing the police brutality of his men in Mandaluyong.

"Hindi dapat nananakit... pulis ka, dapat magtimpi ka," Dela Rosa stated.

"Papadala ko na sila sa PRO-ARMM... tapos sa Marawi… do’n sila mag-practice mamalo sa Maute," he added.

The two police officers were fired from their post in Mandaluyong and will transferred to PNP-National Capital Region Police Office's holding unit in Taguig and will be facing administrative cases.

Tandog became an official police officer on 2014 while Enriquez has only been 2 years in service.
