Photos of wanted employees due to theft.

Authorities are on the manhunt for employees of a 24-hours convenience store in Makati City after they were caught on CCTV pocketing the cash from sales transactions.

According to a report on Unang Balita by Athena Imperial on Thursday, instead of punching the amount and putting the cash inside the cash register, an employee would just use a calculator and put it in a wallet.

Empleyado nilalagay sa wallet ang pera galing sa cashier.

The said employee would then pass on the wallet to another employee who would pretend to bring it to a vault.

A surprise inventory was conducted on Monday, rattling the employees.

An estimated P870,000 is suspected to have been stolen by the suspects in the past two months.
Two employees immediately resigned, while another claimed to be sick.

The two other employees still went to work the next few days. One of them however asked permission to buy lunch but never came back. The other one, when questioned by management, tried to run away.
Authorities said the suspects may face charges of qualified theft.
