Senator Richard Gordon said he might as well refer to Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa as “Bato-gan” or lazy over the Philippine National Police's (PNP) failure to solve riding-in-tandem crimes.

Wala silang [ginagawa],” Gordon, chairman of the Senate justice and human rights committee, told reporters in an interview.
Pampadami o kaya pampagulo?
“They will serve the President and this country better if they do their job,” he said.
Gordon is the author of the proposed motorcycle crime prevention bill, which mandates bigger and reflectorized plate numbers for all motorcycles and scooters.
The bill also proposes that persons committing a crime through or with a backrider or backriders face life imprisonment.
Dela Rosa is known for his monicker “Bato” or rock. According to the PNP chief, the nickname came from senior Davao police officials who called him as such after undergoing training.
Gordon made the remarks against Dela Rosa as he slammed the PNP chief as a “coward” for failing to advise President Rodrigo Duterte against the reinstatement of the top cop tagged in the slay of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa, Sr.
That is also the duty of the people around the President,” Gordon said.
Marcos has been reinstated to active duty and was even given the top post at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Soccsksargen despite the homicide charges he is facing over Espinosa’s death.
