Chinese drug syndicates are now using seaports as an avenue to transport narcotics into the country.

Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Chair Richard Gordon first asked the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency how drugs are still flowing into the country despite the dismantling of several narcotics dens.

"Marami nang nalansag na factories dito na nag shift ang operations ng Chinese drug exporters dito direkta sa Customs? Dinadala na dito yung produkto direcha? Bago ba ito o dati na?" Gordon asked.

According to PDEA Chief Isidro Lapeña, Chinese drug operators have shifted to bulk shipment.

"The clandestine laboratories that we have discovered in recent times are already abandoned," said Lapeña. "The report that we are having is that 70 percent of the drugs that are being peddled in the streets come through our seaports."

Gordon said this is alarming considering that the country has many seaports.

With this revelation, if the PDEA already know that Chinese drug operators change the way on how they could transport the illegal drugs. Then, they should do immediate action.

Ang tanong ngayon dito sino ang tumutulong sa kanila?
