The 2020 Triumph Rocket 3 is now in PH with a P1.509-M starting price

First, the good news: the first batch of the 2020 Triumph Rocket 3 has already arrived on Philippine shores.

Now, here’s the bad news: they’ve been stuck in the port area due to the work stoppage brought about by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Because of this, it will take a little while before Triumph’s legendary motorbike finds its way to the showroom.

No reason to frown yet, though. You still have the chance to become one of the country’s first Rocket 3 owners—Triumph Philippines has announced on social media that it is already accepting reservations for its magnificent road beast. We’ve been told there are two variants available: The Rocket 3 R pictured below is priced at P1,509,000 and comes in two color schemes: Korisi Red and Phantom Black. The top-of-the-line GT in the photo above retails for P1,650,000 and is available in Silver Ice/Storm Grey and Phantom Black.

The Rocket 3 known for its powerful 2,458cc inline-three, water-cooled, DOHC engine that makes 165hp and 220Nm of torque. The bike’s ride-by-wire technology, meanwhile, is credited for its impressive acceleration, smooth throttle response, and well-polished handling.

Despite its big, brutal engine, the Rocket 3 R’s dry weight is at 291kg while the GT is a bit heavier at 294kg. Both are fitted with a sturdy aluminum frame. It’s also worth mentioning that the GT’s seat height is lower at 29.5in compared to the GT’s 30.4in. Aside from the color schemes, other traits that distinguish the GT from the R are the sleek mini windscreen and a stylish passenger backrest.

However, the two also share a lot of features like the TFT multi-functional gauges that show the speedometer, trip computer, digital tachometer, gear-position indicator, fuel gauge, service indicator, ambient temperature, clock, and the different rider modes (Rain, Road, Sport, Rider-configurable). The Triumph TFT Connectivity System comes as an option.

The Rocket 3 has an all-new twin LED headlight with the Triumph triangle logo situated in the middle. Its huge 9.45in rear tire, mounted on a lightweight, 20-spoke wheel and fitted into a single-sided swingarm (both made of cast aluminum), gives the Rocket 3 an athletic stance.

The Rocket 3’s stopping power is handled by dual 320mm discs and Brembo M4.30 Stylema four-piston radial monobloc calipers in front, and a single 300mm disc and Brembo M4.32 four-piston monobloc caliper at the rear. Both brake setups are equipped with cornering ABS.
