UE Lady Warriors secure commitments from 4 California Academy stars

The University of the East Lady Warriors have initiated their preparation for the upcoming UAAP women’s volleyball season by securing the commitment of five talented high school standouts.

Among the new recruits for the Lady Warriors are former California Academy standouts Casiey Dongallo, Jelaica Gajero, Kizzie Madriaga, and Grace Fernandez.

The Lady Warriors, now under the sponsorship of Strong Group Athletics (SGA) of the Lao family, also successfully recruited Claire Castillo of Maryhill College.

Aside from the five players, the Lady Warriors also signed up California Academy coach Dr. Obet Vital to be one of the assistant coaches under UE mentor Jerry Yee.

“As the newest additions to the Lady Warriors, they will team up with UE head coach Jerry Yee in their new home under SGA,” the SGA said in a social media post on Wednesday night.

The Lady Warriors are aiming to bounce back from their last-place finish in the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball tournament earlier this year, where they won one of their 14 games.
