Chris Ross believes USA remains the world’s top basketball nation

PBA veteran Chris Ross said that the gap between Team USA and other countries’ basketball programs is wider than some people think.

According to Ross, the gap can only be seen if the Americans send their top players to international tournaments.

“If the USA send the best of the best the gap is a lot bigger than some of y’all think,” Ross wrote on his social media post on Saturday.

Team USA suffered a heartbreaking 113-111 loss at the hands of Germany in the semifinals of the FIBA World Cup on Friday.

After the game, coach Steve Kerr admitted that players outside the United States have improved, making it difficult for them to win a medal in tournaments such as the World Cup or the Olympics.

Meanwhile, other netizens, including Ross, believe that sending the top talents from the United States will assure them a gold medal in any international tournament.

On the roster that Team USA sent to the World Cup, only Anthony Edwards, Brandon Ingram, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Tyrese Haliburton have made it to the NBA All-Star team at least once in their careers. (MJD)
