The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters will parade veteran forward DaJuan Summers as their reinforcement for the PBA Commissioner’s Cup in November.
The team’s official Facebook page announced the acquisition of Summers on Monday.
The Detroit Pistons selected the 35-year-old Summers as the 35th overall pick in the 2009 draft. He played 66 games in two seasons with the Pistons. He also had brief stints with the New Orleans Pelicans and Los Angeles Clippers before taking his talents to the NBA G League and overseas leagues.
Meanwhile, the Meralco Bolts are looking for a new import after they decided to send home Feron Hunt.
“Someone who also coach Nenad can see fits the team. We’re looking to add a guy who has some international experience globally—someone who has played overseas in Europe,” Trillo said in a report from The Manila Times.
The Bolts’ decision to replace Hunt came after their disastrous stint in the 2023 Doha International Basketball Tournament in Qatar, where they only won one game in five outings.
In addition, Meralco is also seeking a second import for their East Asia Super League campaign. (MJD)
