Ricci Rivero, 3 other rookies ink deals with Phoenix

The Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters will introduce a lot of new faces in the upcoming PBA season as they sign four rookies, with former UAAP champion Ricci Rivero leading the way.

The team’s official Instagram account announced the signing of Rivero, Raffy Verano, Matthew Daves, and Ken Tuffin on Monday.

“Phoenix Super LPG Governor Atty. Raymond Zorrilla and team manager Paolo Bugia officially welcome our four incoming rookies for the PBA’s 48th season after they’ve all signed their contracts,” the caption read.

The terms of their contract were not disclosed in the post.

Phoenix selected Rivero as the 17th overall pick in the recent draft. The former UP Maroon was drafted after Verano, who was the 16th overall selection. Meanwhile, the Fuel Masters chose Tuffin in the first round (sixth overall) and Daves as the 28th overall pick.

Phoenix struggled last season after the departure of leading scorer Matthew Wright. The team had a 13-34 win-loss record for the entirety of Season 47. (MJD)
