Chiba pounds shorthanded TNT yet again in EASL

An undermanned Talk ‘N Text side fell to its second straight loss to the Chiba Jets, 75-66, during a home game in the East Asia Super League in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, on All Saints Day.

Without Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, the Tropang GIGA lacked the firepower needed to overcome the visiting Jets.

Hollis-Jefferson was forced to sit out, reportedly due to gastritis, leaving a vulnerable TNT squad that trailed by as many as 20.

Making it even more difficult for the Tropang GIGA were the 21 turnovers they committed.

“I think the 21 turnovers there—even if Rondae was there—he won’t be able to cover for that,” said TNT coach Jojo Lastimosa.

Quincy Miller carried the scoring duties for TNT with 22 points, 14 of them coming in the third period.

But Chiba’s John Mooney came through with 30 points and 16 rebounds, securing the Jeets’ third victory in the tourney.
