Dave Ildefonso and the Suwon KT Sonic Boom hacked out a lopsided 113-85 victory over Rhenz Abando and the Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters in the Korean Basketball League on Sunday night at the Anyang Indoor Gymnasium.
Ildefonso was unproductive in his eight minutes of playing time after missing his two field goal attempts, but it did not stop the Sonic Boom from registering its 15th victory in 24 games.
Paris Bass finished with a triple-double of 33 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds; Ha Yoon-gi added 22 markers; and Seongwoo Jeong and Moon Seong-gon ended with 15 and 12, respectively, for Suwon.
“The key to victory was active movement from the beginning,” said Sonic Boom head coach Song Young-jin. “I think it has become a turning point, and that is the biggest achievement.”
Robert Carter top-scored for the defending champion Red Boosters with 18 points; Byeongjun Bae added 15 markers; and Seongwon Choi and Kim Cheol-wook had 12 and 10 markers, respectively.
Abando struggled anew with seven points on 2-of-8 shooting to go with seven rebounds and two assists as the Red Boosters dropped to 10-14 in the standings.
