Ethan Alvano, Wonju defeat SJ Belangel, Daegu

Ethan Alvano and the Wonju DB Promy vented their ire on Samjosef Belangel and the Daegu Korea Gas Corporation Pegasus, 85-72, in the Korean Basketball League on Thursday night at the Daegu Gymnasium.

Alvano was a bit gun shy for the Promy as he only attempted three shots to finish with seven points to go with four assists and one rebound in almost 22 minutes of playing time.

Sangjae Kang tallied a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds; Didrick Lawson added 21 markers; and Kim Jong-gyu contributed 11 points as Wonju stayed on top with a 19-5 record.

“We won, but the game was not good,” Promy head coach Kim Joo-sung said after the game. “We cannot do basic things because the game has not been good recently. There were some ridiculous plays and mistakes.”

“I think it would be good to stick to the basics. We will take this win, but our future game is important,” he added. “Since we will have three games in the next five games, we need to be ready.”

Andrew Nicholson finished with 22 points, DuVaughn Maxwell and Seungmin Shin tallied 12 points each, and Belangel contributed 10 markers as the Pegasus dropped to 6-17.
