Jamil Wilson, concluding his stint with the Converge FiberXers in the 2023–24 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, has inked a deal with the Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters in the Korean Basketball League.
In a Friday announcement, the Red Boosters revealed that they have enlisted the services of Wilson to fill in for American player Darryl Monroe, who is sidelined with an undisclosed injury.
This marks Wilson’s inaugural participation in the KBL, following the initial phase of his professional basketball career in the NBA with the Los Angeles Clippers and in European leagues.
Despite Wilson’s impressive averages of 28.8 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in nearly 45 minutes of play for the FiberXers, the team finished the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the bottom with a 1-10 record, and Wilson couldn’t turn their fortunes around.
Standing at 6-foot-7, Wilson faces the challenging mission of reigniting the title retention hopes for the Red Boosters, who currently hold the ninth position in the standings with an 11-21 record.
