Blackwater Bossing head coach Jeffrey Cariaso sees a silver lining for his team despite their ugly 1-11 record to end their Commissioner’s Cup campaign.
Cariaso said that he is optimistic about the team’s future, especially with the addition of rookies Christian David, James Kwekuteye, Clifford Jopia, and Archie Concepcion.
“I’m really, truly excited about our young core, looking forward to seeing what they can do,” the former PBA player told reporters after the Bossing’s 125-117 loss against the San Miguel Beermen on Friday.
“We believe we’re gonna do a lot better come the All-Filipino,” he added.
Blackwater registered its lone Commissioner’s Cup victory against Converge in their first game of the conference, 103-84. After that, they suffered 11 consecutive defeats.
Cariaso believes that his team performed better than their record shows. Now, his goal is to prepare his wards for the next conference.
“A lot to look forward to. I truly believed we were a lot better than our record. That’s our belief,” he added. “Again, looking forward to the All-Filipino.”
