Despite Bobby Ray Parks Jr.’s limited offensive contribution, the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins secured a 94-82 revenge win over the Seahorses Mikawa in Japan B.League Division 1 on Sunday night at the Okazaki Central Park General Gymnasium.
The former TNT Tropang Giga guard finished with only three points in nearly 16 minutes of play, along with three assists and one steal, contributing to the Diamond Dolphins’ record hike to 18-13.
Robert Franks tallied a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds; Takuma Sato added 19 markers; and Taito Nakahigashi, Yutaro Suda, and Scott Eatherton had 17, 14, and 10 markers, respectively, for Nagoya.
“We knew from the beginning that it was going to be a tough match,” said Diamond Dolphins head coach Sean Dennis. “But the players regained their old form, which is good for us.”
Jake Layman finished with 35 points, including four three-pointers, while Davante Gardner and Daesung Lee had 15 and 13 markers, respectively, as Mikawa dropped to 21-10.
Meanwhile, Dwight Ramos’ season-high performance went for naught as the Levanga Hokkaido (9-22) faltered to the Chiba Jets (18-13), 89-82, at the Funabashi Arena.
Ramos tallied 19 points, including three outside shots, to go with five rebounds and three assists for Levanga.
