Celine Domingo clinches championship with Nakhon Ratchasima in Thailand

Celine Domingo celebrated her successful debut on the international stage as the Nakhon Ratchasima Cat Devils secured the Volleyball Thailand League championship on Sunday night.

The Filipina middle blocker, contributing five points, played a key role in the Cat Devils’ victory over the Diamond Food Volleyball Club in the gold medal match, securing a second consecutive title for the team with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-18.

Domingo joined the ranks of Filipino volleyball players securing championships as imports, following in the footsteps of Alyja Daphne “Jaja” Santiago (with Saitama Ageo Medics in the Japan V.Cup) and Bryan Bagunas (in the Top Volleyball League in Taiwan), becoming the third to achieve this feat.

Having concluded her tenure with Nakhon Ratchasima, Domingo is expected to transition to her new team, the Akari Power Chargers, for the upcoming 2024 Premier Volleyball League 1st All-Filipino Conference, set to commence in early March.

“What I heard from her before is that she will join the team by March,” Power Chargers interim head coach Raffy Mosuela said in a previous interview. “So we are really looking forward to that.”
