Ravena credits Shiga’s teamwork for dominant win over Yamagata

Kiefer Ravena credited Shiga Lake’s 107-92 triumph over the Yamagata Wyverns in Japan B.League Division 2 on Sunday night to the exceptional teamwork exhibited throughout the entire game.

The former NLEX Road Warriors guard highlighted that the Lakes’ 31 total assists serve as a testament to their trust in each other, emphasizing their commitment to sharing the ball and contributing to various facets of the game.

Ravena recorded seven assists along with 20 points (including three three-pointers), five rebounds, and one steal, contributing to the Lakes’ improved win-loss slate of 29-12.

“It was a good game, and we had 31 assists, which I think was the result of everyone working for the team instead of being selfish. We would like to continue this trend,” Ravena said in a post-game interview.

“I think we played pretty good defense in the first half, but Yamagata made extremely tough shots, especially in the third quarter. However, I think we were able to play according to our game plan the entire 40 minutes, so we will focus on that,” he added.

Brock Motum top-scored for the Lakes with 21 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, while Ryan Kriener and James Burrell chipped in 19 and 18 markers, respectively.

Filipino-American guard Roosevelt Adams finished with 18 points, eight rebounds, and one steal for the Wyverns, which dropped to a 20-21 record.
