Mars Alba grateful for Deanna Wong’s guidance in adapting to Choco Mucho

Marionne Alba thanked Choco Mucho Flying Titans setter Deanna Wong for helping her adjust before the start of the Premier Volleyball League 1st All-Filipino Conference.

In an interview after their straight-set win over the NxLed Chameleons on Thursday, Alba acknowledged that temporarily taking over the starting setter position from Wong was challenging, but she successfully adapted with Wong’s assistance.

“Medyo mahirap ‘yung i-fill in ko na position since last conference silver medalists sila,” said Alba, who made an offseason transfer to the Flying Titans following the disbandment of the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.

“Thankful din ako kay ate Deanna kasi gina-guide nya ako through this adjustment stage,” she added. “Nakakapanibago po maglaro dito, but happy kasi favorite color ko ‘yung purple eh.”

Flying Titans star Cherry Ann Rondina noted that Alba is a valuable addition to the team, stating that her playmaking ability will enhance the squad’s formidability in their pursuit of the title.

“We are happy that Mars chose to join us; she is really a big help for us, especially with Deanna still recovering from her injury,” Rondina said. “She is a fast learner, as she quickly adapts to the team system.”

The Flying Titans aim for their second consecutive win on Tuesday, February 27, facing the Petro Gazz Angels at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
