Following the commitment of Filipino-Canadian forward Zain Mahmood, the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers are reportedly engaging in discussions with another potential recruit.
According to a report from The Varsitarian, citing an unnamed member of the Growling Tigers coaching staff, the team is in the final stages of negotiations with another recruit, aiming to finalize the deal in the coming days.
“The Growling Tigers are in the final stages of acquiring another recruit, with the announcement expected in the coming days, one UST coach told the Varsitarian,” stated a report published on Friday night.
Attempts by Fastbreak to obtain information from UST insiders about the identity of the recruit were unsuccessful, as they declined to comment until the deal was officially concluded.
“Huwag na muna, hintayin na lang muna natin ma-selyado bago natin pangalanan,” said a member of the team.
The Growling Tigers have a formidable lineup for the UAAP Season 87 men’s basketball tournament, led by Mahmood, Kyle Paranada, Rence Padrigao, Ice Danting, Geremy Robinson, Nicael Cabañero, Alfred Osang, and Leland Estacio.
