The University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses gear up for a formidable “David vs. Goliath” encounter against the De La Salle University Lady Spikers in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament on Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
According to Golden Tigresses head coach Emilio “Kung Fu” Reyes, despite being the underdog against the Lady Spikers, they will make sure to give the defending UAAP champions a good fight.
“Alam naman natin na ‘David vs. Goliath’ ang magiging labanan,” Reyes said in a post-game interview on Wednesday night.
“For sure, bibigyan namin sila ng magandang laban.”
Reyes added that the Golden Tigresses will draw inspiration from their come-from-behind 18-25, 25-19, 25-17, and 25-22 victory against the University of the East Lady Warriors to possibly pull off an upset against the Lady Spikers.
Currently, the Golden Tigresses and the Lady Spikers are tied at the top of the standings with a 2-0 win-loss slate.
