Jake Paul to collide with Mike Tyson on July 10

Youtuber-turned boxer Jake Paul is set to slug it out with boxing great Mike Tyson in a crossover match set for July 10.

ESPN reported that the Tyson-Paul match will take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and will be aired on streaming company Netflix.

The fight was arranged by Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.

“Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is a once-in-a-lifetime dream matchup, and I anticipate it will be the most-watched boxing event in modern boxing history,” said MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian.

Tyson, renowned as “The Baddest Man on the Planet,” stands as one of boxing’s heavyweight greats. He held the undisputed heavyweight championship title and is widely regarded as one of the most intimidating figures in the sport’s history.

However, “Iron Mike” will be 58 at the time of the fight. Paul, on the other hand, is 27.

The last time Tyson fought was when he faced Roy Jones in an exhibition on November 28, 2020. Paul knocked out former NBA player Nate Robinson on the undercard of Tyson’s exhibition.

Tyson welcomed the fight, saying that he plans to knock Paul out.

“[Paul has] grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT,” he said in a statement.

“It’s a full-circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch, as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones, and now I plan to finish him.”
