Learning experience? Chot Reyes pleased with TNT’s performance vs SMB

TNT Tropang Giga head coach Chot Reyes was satisfied with his team’s performance in their 91-89 loss to the San Miguel Beermen on Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

“Pretty satisfied,” Reyes said in a Spin.ph report. “We caught San Miguel on a very hot shooting night. They shot over 50 percent from three points, and we still came within possession of beating them.”

San Miguel led by as much as 15 points, but the Tropang Giga clawed their way back thanks to the combined efforts of Jayson Castro, Kelly Williams, and RR Pogoy.

TNT even had a chance to steal the game, but Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser missed a potential game-winning triple.

According to Reyes, their performance is proof that they can compete with the contenders.

“There were a lot of things to take away. We could compete with the big boys; that’s number one. Number two is to be able to reflect on the little things. Marami kaming little mistakes (throughout) the game that, in the end, you lose by two points,” he added.

TNT will head to the All-Star break with a 2-2 record, while the Beermen notched their second win in as many games. (MJD)
