NU coach Miguel: Lady Bulldogs prep for DLSU Lady Spikers since last week

The National University Lady Bulldogs have been gearing up for their forthcoming UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament clash against the De La Salle University Lady Spikers since last week.

In preparation for the match against the Lady Spikers, Lady Bulldogs head coach Norman Miguel shared that his players engaged in skills training ahead of time, recognizing the formidable challenge posed by the defending UAAP women’s volleyball champions.

“Actually, (last) week medyo nag start na kami ng preparation for that game (this Saturday), sinabay na namin dun sa preparation namin ng our game versus UE (Lady Warriors),” Miguel said.

“May mga skills training kaming tinutukan (for that particular game against DLSU), ‘yung iba dun na-apply naman (during our game against UE last Sunday),” added the returning NU head coach.

Despite the rigorous training for the DLSU game, Miguel assured that his players’ conditioning is well-managed. He also emphasized avoiding overtraining to prevent potential injuries.

“Very careful kami nuh sa pag-angat ng performance ng team namin, dapat nasa tamang timing. So we always check their physical conditioning; importante ‘yun eh, adjust sa load ng skills training,” he said.

NU and DLSU clashed in the last two UAAP women’s volleyball finals, with the Lady Bulldogs winning Season 84 and the Lady Spikers bouncing back in Season 85.
Currently tied for second place with a 5-1 win-loss slate, both the Lady Bulldogs and the Lady Spikers trail behind the league-leading University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses, which holds a flawless 5-0 record.
