Choco Mucho fans suspect ‘Sagip Kapamilya,’ Creamline supporters disagree

Choco Mucho fans voiced suspicion regarding the Flying Titans’ unusual off-night following their straight-set loss (25-17, 25-22, 25-19) to sister team Creamline Cool Smashers in the PVL 1st All-Filipino Conference on Thursday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Some social media comments expressed surprise at the Flying Titans’ below-par performance, especially considering their dominance over most opponents in the ongoing season-opening conference.

They speculated that the Flying Titans might have intentionally dropped the game to facilitate their sister team, the Cool Smashers, smoothly advancing to the semifinal round without any complications.
A loss by the Cool Smashers could have dropped them to fifth place with a 7-3 win-loss record, behind the Flying Titans (potentially improving to 9-1 with a win), PLDT High Speed Hitters, Chery Tiggo Crossovers, and Petro Gazz Angels, all with a 7-2 record.

However, with the Cool Smashers’ win, they tied the Flying Titans at the top with an 8-2 win-loss record, while the High Speed Hitters, the Crossovers, and the Angels remained tied from third to fifth place with a 7-2 record.

However, some Creamline fans defended their team from the “Sagip Kapamilya” allegation, stating that the Cool Smashers have a 12-game winning streak against the Flying Titans.

They emphasized that in previous PVL conferences, the Cool Smashers defeated the Flying Titans, even if it resulted in their sister team being eliminated from playoff contention.
