FEU oach on reaching UAAP F4: ‘Nandito na rin kami, e di mangarap na ng sobra-sobra pa’

FEU Tamaraws head coach Manolo Refugia is urging his team to set higher goals after securing a spot in the Final Four of the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament.

The first-year Lady Tamaraws coach expressed their desire to make a deep playoff run now that they’ve reached the semifinals for the first time in three UAAP seasons.

“Napakasarap ng feeling kasi ‘yun ngang glory days ng FEU ay parang pilit naming ibinabalik at ngayon nandito na kami sa Final Four,” Refugia said after their 19-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20, 15-10 win against the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses.

“Masaya pero hindi pa natatapos ‘yung trabaho. Nandito na rin kami, e di mangarap na kami ng sobra-sobra pa,” added Refugia, who also works as an assistant coach for the PLDT High Speed Hitters in the PVL.

The Lady Tamaraws boast the most UAAP women’s volleyball titles with 29 championships, but their last title was in 2008, led by Rachel Anne Daquis.

FEU, who last entered the UAAP Final Four in 2019, currently holds a 7-4 win-loss record and remains poised to climb in the rankings pending the results of their remaining matches.
