Quezon braces for Nueva Ecija’s fightback in Game 4 of PSL Finals

The Quezon Titans are preparing for a possible strong response by the Nueva Ecija Capitals in Game 4 of the Pilipinas Super League President’s Cup Finals this Tuesday at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena, Quezon.

According to Titans head coach Eric Gonzales, they will try to anticipate the adjustments that the Capitals will make in a bid to send the championship series to a do-or-die Game 5.

The Titans moved a win closer to capturing the PSL President’s Cup championship after scoring a 75-68 victory over the Capitals on late Saturday evening at their home floor.

“Champion ‘yang team na ‘yan eh, they always play hard and play their best, especially when their backs are against the wall. So kami naman, we keep on pursuing them; we keep on playing harder together as a team,” Gonzales said.

“Mahirap na kalaban ang Nueva Ecija, magaling na coaches sila Don Dulay and his team, so ‘yung panalo namin, we really earned it the hard way, and we will prepare for them sa Game 5,” he added.

Judel Fuentes, who earned Player of the Game honors in Game 3 after tallying a team-high 23 points, stated that they will continue to tighten their defense in hopes of bagging the crown in front of their fans.

“Basta sa amin naman, palagi kaming nagsisimula sa defense, and the offense will follow na lang,” Fuentes said. “If may chance na tapusin sana mas ok, para na din sa mga taga Quezon na grabi ang suporta sa amin.”

If ever the series is to be stretched to a do-or-die Game 5, it will be held at the Nueva Ecija Coliseum this Thursday.
