NU Lady Bulldogs focused on present, not thinking about UAAP title yet

The National University Lady Bulldogs, currently on a five-game winning streak and the league’s hottest team, are avoiding discussions about the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament championship for now.

Lady Bulldogs star Mhicaela Belen emphasized their commitment to a “one game at a time” approach, highlighting the importance of focusing on their remaining two elimination round matches.

“Ako po, personally, hindi pa ganun masyado (iniisip ang championship), kasi may mga games pa po eh, may next game pa. Kami naman palagi kaming one game at a time,” Belen said after their victory over the De La Salle University Lady Spikers on Sunday.

“‘Yung championship, darating sa amin ‘yan kapag nag-trabaho kami kasi naniniwala ako na lahat ng pagod, may kapalit,” she added. “Hindi namin iniisip ‘yung future, kung ano lang muna ‘yung ngayon.”

The Lady Bulldogs are eager to regain the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament championship after falling short last season, losing to the Lady Spikers in two matches.

“Hangga’t buo kami, hangga’t walang naliligaw sa amin, hangga’t iisa lang ang goal namin, walang imposible,” said Belen, the UAAP Rookie of the Year-MVP winner in Season 84.
