National University Lady Bulldogs head coach Norman Miguel stated that his team’s redemption tour is nearing completion after advancing to the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament finals.
While expressing satisfaction with his players’ progress towards their championship goal, the returning Lady Bulldogs mentor cautioned them about the challenge posed by their finals opponent, the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses.
“Sobrang masaya na going to the finals again ‘yung Lady Bulldogs, papunta na uli dun sa sinasabi nilang goal na redemption. From the start, ‘yun talaga ang goal eh,” Miguel said.
“Simula (ngayong Huwebes) talaga matinding preparation na kasi hindi basta basta ‘yung character ng UST. So ano mag-scouting through videos and ‘yung mga technicals na kailangan namin i-work on para ma-counter namin sila,” he added.
Lady Bulldogs star Mhicaela Belen attributed nearing the conclusion of the “redemption tour” to their hard work during the offseason and throughout the season.
“More on work kami, kailangan muna namin magtrabaho, and ‘yung redemption naman makakamit namin ‘yun kapag nag trabaho kami,” Belen said. “’Yung mga losses namin dun kami nasubok eh, nag stick kami as one.”
The Lady Bulldogs are determined to reclaim the UAAP women’s volleyball championship after falling short in their title defense last season against the De La Salle University Lady Spikers.
