PFF acts swiftly after violence at Palarong Bicol 2024

The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) said that it is taking swift action in response to reports of violence that marred the conclusion of the Palarong Bicol 2024 football championship.

The PFF released a statement on Saturday expressing solidarity with the Department of Education (DepEd), strongly condemning any form of violent conduct in football.

The federation also said that it fully supports the implementation of necessary measures to address such behavior.

In line with this, the PFF has launched a thorough investigation into the incident and, pending due process, is contemplating stringent disciplinary actions. These measures underscore the PFF’s unwavering commitment to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy towards violence within the sport.

“The PFF is committed to supporting DepEd in further improving the development and management of football in schools and the Palarong Pambansa by providing necessary capacity-building programs to all its coaches, referees, and organizers,” the PFF said.

“Adhering to the highest standards of fair play and safety is crucial to protecting participants and upholding the integrity of football,” it added.

The PFF also reiterated its unwavering commitment to fair play and denounced all forms of violence in football. The federation is dedicated to ensuring a safe and respectful environment at all levels of the game.
