University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers center Echo Laure was reportedly provoked repeatedly by players from Smash Basketball during their Sulit Breakdown Basketball game, which ended in a brawl on Wednesday.
TomasinoWeb, a digital media organization of UST, reported that Smash Basketball players sparked the commotion by provoking Laure until one of them received an unsportsmanlike foul.
Despite the referee’s call, Smash Basketball players continued to provoke Laure until he confronted Jano Zipagan, the Smash player in jersey number 10, grabbed him by the jersey, and choked him.

Smash Basketball head coach Richmont John Boleche apologized for his team’s unsportsmanlike behavior on Thursday and promised to take accountability for their actions.
The Growling Tigers have yet to issue their statement on the incident, while Sulit Breakdown Basketball has not yet released the possible sanctions for the players involved in the brawl.
