San Miguel Beer’s June Mar Fajardo expressed happiness at receiving his 10th Best Player of the Conference award on Wednesday.
However, he clarified that this accolade wasn’t what motivated him to lead the Beermen past Meralco in Game 4 of the PBA Philippine Cup finals.
“Motivated ako kasi down kami sa series,” said the “Kraken” following San Miguel’s 111-101 victory. “Bonus na lang ‘yung BPC.”
“Kailangan ko talagang (iforce) ang sarili ko sa ilalim kasi pag natalo pa kami, magiging 3-1 na (ang lamang ng Meralco).”
The San Miguel big man indeed asserted himself in the shaded area, scoring 12 of his 28 points in the first quarter alone.
He also did much lifting in the rebounding department, regestering 13 boards all-in-all.
