Rain or Shine looking to trade some second-round picks

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters are looking to give away some of their second-round draft picks in the PBA Season 49 Rookie Draft this afternoon at the Glorietta Malls’ Activity Center in Makati City.

According to Painters head coach Joseller “Yeng” Guiao, with a limited open roster spot, they are looking to trade their second-round picks to teams needing them in exchange for future draft rights.

“We are looking to maybe trade it for future picks, ‘yung mga nangangailangan pa na mga teams. We are actually exploring that option,” the seven-time PBA champion coach said.

“Kung wala naman, we will still draft in the second round, and we will have a good problem. We will see how they are in practice, and then we will have to decide kung sino makakapasok sa lineup,” he added.

The Painters have two first-round picks, No. 7 (from the TNT Tropang Giga) and No. 8, and three second-round selections, No. 13 (from the Converge FiberXers), No. 16 (from the Phoenix Fuel Masters), and No. 20.

Rain or Shine recently let go of veteran forward Rey Mark Belo and rookie Sherwin Concepcion, who has taken his act to the Abra Weavers in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.
