The Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws continued their dominance in the UAAP Season 87 women’s football after blanking the University of Santo Tomas Golden Booters, 2-0, on Saturday night at the UP Diliman Football Stadium.
Regine Rebosura and Dionesa Tolentin connected a goal each as the Finals-bound Lady Tamaraws maintained their hold on the top spot with 16 points and a plus-13 goal difference.
Rebosura drew first blood for FEU after she blasted a shot past UST goalkeeper Lizlie Garcia in the fourth minute. It was doubled in the 64th minute by a close-range connection by Carmela Altiche.
Lady Tamaraws head coach Let Dimzon stated that she will try to use her bench players more in their final game of the elimination round against the De La Salle University Lady Archers, their potential finals opponent.
“Since non-bearing game naman ‘yung game against La Salle, ang important for me is magbigay ng quality time sa mga players na wala masyadong playing time,” Dimzon said after the game.
Despite the loss, the Golden Booters remained in third place with five points and a minus-three goal difference.
