Creamline outduels Choco Mucho for 3-0 start

The Creamline Cool Smashers stayed undefeated in the PVL 2nd All-Filipino Conference after a 25-22, 25-20, 30-32, 25-20 victory over the Choco Mucho Flying Titans on Tuesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Jessica Galanza finished with a conference high of 24 points, built on 22 attacks, one block, and a service ace, to go with 17 excellent receptions and nine excellent digs as the Cool Smashers improved to a 3-0 win-loss slate.

“Nagpapasalamat ako na maganda ‘yung naging performance ko pero nagsisimula pa lang ang season kaya hindi pa ako puwedeng mag relax at makuntento sa laro ko,” Galanza said in a post-game interview.

“Siguro sa sobrang tagal na namin magkakasama alam na namin ‘yung dapat naming gawin, na kailangan mag adjust agad during the game,” she added. “Mahaba pa ang season, madami pa ang puwedeng mangyari.”

Michele Gumabao added 22 points on 19 attacks and three blocks, while former Flying Titan middle blocker Bea de Leon contributed 10 markers for the defending champion Cool Smashers.

“’Yung Choco [Mucho] talaga, hindi talaga magpapatalo talaga basta-basta. Alam namin babalik sila sa game, so sabi ko sa mga players is mag-enjoy lang, mag-perform ng maayos para makuha ‘yung panalo,” said Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses.

Cherry Rondina top scored for the Flying Titans with 24 points, including 22 attacks and two blocks, while Cherry Nunag contributed 10 markers. They dropped to a 2-3 win-loss slate.
