Former, current Lady Spikers react to Alleiah Malaluan’s ‘pamewang’ vs FEU

For years, Alleiah Malaluan was known as the quiet worker among the De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Spikers—never one for staredowns or taunts. But that changed over the weekend, much to the amusement of her teammates and former DLSU stars.

A classic DLSU-FEU rivalry wouldn’t be complete without some on-court banter, and fans got just that during their UAAP Season 87 Round 1 clash last Saturday.

Several moments of what today’s fans call “puksaan” or “versusan” unfolded, led by FEU’s Faida Bakanke and Tin Ubaldo, along with DLSU’s Angel Canino and, surprisingly, Malaluan.

Late in the first set, Malaluan was caught on camera striking a rare pose, standing with her hands on her waist while facing the FEU players after scoring a point. The moment instantly went viral, shocking local volleyball fans.

DLSU young star Shevana Laput was one of the first to react, posting on Facebook:

“Grabe si Ate Alleiah.”

Malaluan playfully responded:

“Mas grabe ka, Shev.”

Lady Spikers libero Lyka de Leon, who witnessed it firsthand, couldn’t help but share her excitement:

“Share ko ‘to, minsan lang ‘to.”

Former Lady Spikers Desiree Cheng and Thea Gagate—who had their own share of iconic celebrations in the UAAP—also joined in on the fun.

“Owwkay 👀😂,” Cheng teased.

Meanwhile, Gagate added:

“Love the pamewang, Alleiah.”

For fans, it was a rare but entertaining side of Malaluan, proving that even the quietest players have their moments of fire.
