Filipino-American Muay Thai fighter Sean “The One” Climaco returns to action on May 2 as he faces teenage sensation Akif “King” Guluzada at ONE Fight Night 31, set at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium and airing on US primetime.
Climaco is expected to face a tough challenge against the 19-year-old Azerbaijan native, who enters the bout on a three-fight winning streak. Guluzada’s run includes a highlight-reel knockout of Puengluang Baanramba, considered a Knockout of the Year candidate.
Guluzada is aiming to continue his ascent in the global Muay Thai scene with a statement win in his US primetime debut.
Climaco, meanwhile, showcased his striking prowess in his ONE debut with a first-round knockout of Josue Cruz last May. Although he dropped his second fight to unbeaten Colombian star Johan Estupinan, the California-born striker bounced back with a gritty decision win over fellow American Diego Paez.
ONE Fight Night 31 promises fireworks as Climaco looks to build momentum and Guluzada seeks to keep his streak alive.
